First launched in 2013, the famous Speedmaster '57 watch has been fully upgraded, with an internal upgrade to the Master Chronometer movement, and it returns with a slimmer design. There are eight models in this collection: four with new stainless steel bracelets, and four with leather straps that match the colour of the dial.
Inside the watch is the new Omega 9906 Master Chronometer movement. The hand-wound movement allows the watch to be paired with a thinner case and a slimmer bezel, giving the new Speedmaster '57 a more refined look. Inspired by the first Speedmaster launched in 1957, the new watch follows the historic symmetrical case and vertical lugs, and the metal bezel is decorated with a laser-engraved black tachymeter scale and is matched with the famous "Broad Arrow" pointer. One of the watches features a black dial with a “sandwich” double-layer structure, with skeleton hour markers on the upper layer and a retro-inspired Super-LumiNova coating on the bottom layer. Three other models feature blue, green and lacquered burgundy red dials.
The new Speedmaster '57 has a case diameter of 40.5 mm and a thickness of less than 13 mm, which is thinner than the thickness of the Speedmaster Moonwatch 3861, which is 13.58 mm. Of course, the watch also contains design elements that pay homage to Omega's glorious history of space exploration. Inspired by the Speedmaster "Apollo 11" watch launched in 2019, the bracelet of the stainless steel model has been updated and upgraded with a comfortable bracelet adjustment function developed by the brand, and the bracelet can be extended by an additional 2.3 mm.
